We are super excited to have our very own, (well from Tutbury) Jeff Davenport. Joining us on the 4th Feb in store to show us all how to master the dark art of drum tuning.
It's an all day event between our opening hours of 9.30am to 5.00pm. Rather than have any formal presentations or seminars Jeff is simply going to be available all day to chat tuning, head choice etc but also, if you bring in your snare or even your whole kit, he will tune it up for FREE and explain what he's doing at the same time. You will need to purchase new drum heads from us on the day for each drum to get the free tuning service, however you can still chat , ask questions and enter our prize draw on the day without a purchase.
As well as Jeff's expertise we'll have the three of us, Martin, Kev and Ed, plus a representative from the Remo Supplier in the UK, EMD Music, on hand to to answer questions. Between now and the we also have the Tom corner, 9 identical drums with different combinations of Remo heads so you can hear for yourself what a difference various head choices make. you'll be surprised just how different the same drum can sound.
Who Is Jeff Davenport?
Jeff Davenport has been teaching drum tuning to professionals and students alike for 20 years.
"All tuning is temporary - it hardly ever stays the same, and that's why it can become a little frustrating in managing the process - we just want to get on and play!"
Jeff will show you how to build on the knowledge you've already gained to make the whole process of tuning drums a whole lot more intuitive and relaxing.
