Yamaha have been able to utilize shell technology developed during the flagship PHX project to create a hybrid maple shell that features an inner core of African wenge that plays rich and clear across the full dynamic range.

The Live Custom is LOUD, really loud. The shell combines 7-plies of oak with a specially developed dense phenolic sheet at its core to deliver unbelievable levels of attack and projection. A traditional Japanese finishing technique know as "UZUKURI" emphasizes the natural beauty of the grain.
